Professional Training in Stage Combat is becoming more and more a necessity in today’s film and theatre world. The public want to see exciting action sequences, while the performers need to remain safe. The British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat is dedicated to providing the very best quality training at an accessible cost. To maintain the best standards, we have an exceptional staff-to-student ratio with 4 highly qualified lead teachers (one for each discipline), who bring with them a wealth of professional expertise. The BASSC qualified staff is drawn from leading stage combat professionals who teach at the UK’s leading drama schools (RADA, Central, E15, Guildhall, Birmingham, Drama Studio and Italia Conti) and have worked on such films as TROY, ALEXANDER and THE LAST LEGION. There are also assistant teachers and interns to help you get the best out of this intensive, two-week course. The workshop has been extended by a day thereby giving students more time for rehearsal and the Fight Performance Test for all workshops will now be on the final Saturday. To ensure a high staff:student ratio, numbers for the basic workshop will be limited to 12 places and the int/adv workshop to 14 places. Basic workshop weapons - rapier and dagger and unarmed combat Int/Adv workshop weapons - quarterstaff and smallsword.
Daily renewal workshops: Rapier and dagger, unarmed, other weapons tbc. An opportunity to refresh your technique or renew your existing weapons certifications. 6 hours of instruction in each weapon. Fees and teachers are to be confirmed.
