The 20TH annual BRITISH NATIONAL STAGE COMBAT WORKSHOP!

Believe it or not, 2012 marks 20 years of the BASSC's flagship stage combat workshop. But we have no intention of resting on our laurels, and this summer we will be slinging more steel and throwing more punches than ever, so if you've ever fancied yourself as an action hero or swashbuckling adventurer, why join us?

Professional Training in Stage Combat is increasingly becoming a necessity in today’s film and theatre industry. The public want to see exciting action sequences, while performers need to be safe, skilled and confident. The British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat is dedicated to providing the very best quality training, whatever your level of experience. To maintain the best standards, we have an exceptional staff-to-student ratio with four highly qualified lead teachers (one for each weapon), who bring with them a wealth of professional expertise.

The BASSC's qualified teaching staff are experienced stage combat professionals who teach at the UK’s leading drama schools (including RADA, Central School of Speech & Drama, East 15 Acting School, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Birmingham School of Acting, Drama Studio London, Italia Conti) and have worked widely in theatre and on film (TROY, ALEXANDER, THE LAST LEGION). There are also assistant teachers and interns to help you get the best out of this intensive, two-week course. Fight Performance Tests for the two main workshops will be on the final Saturday, and an additional event class for all attendees will take place on the afternoon of the first Friday.

The BNSCW includes a Basic Workshop for those with little or no stage combat experience, an Intermediate and Advanced Workshop for those who already hold their Basic certificate and a Junior Foundation Workshop for participants aged 14-18. To ensure a high staff-to-student ratio, numbers for the Basic workshop will be limited to 14 places and the intermediate/advanced workshop to 16 places.
