The BNSCW offers three courses: The Basic Stage Combat Workshop ___ The Intermediate/Advanced Stage Combat Workshop Certification by the British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat, an industry standard qualification recognised by Equity and Spotlight, is offered at both these workshops. All weapons are provided and test fees are included. and The Junior Stage Combat Workshop This is a workshop for 14-18 year-olds. The British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat JGA (Junior Grade Award), is offered at this workshop. All weapons are provided and test fees are included. The Basic Stage Combat WorkshopThis is the workshop to choose if you have little or no experience of stage combat, offering technique and safety foundation skills in the use of Rapier & Dagger and Unarmed Combat, with emphasis on the theatrical presentation of each system. No prior experience is necessary for participation in this course. You may opt to take the British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat FPT (Fight Performance Test) at the end of the two-week course. The Intermediate/Advanced Stage Combat WorkshopThis workshop covers 2 stage combat weapon disciplines: Sword & Shield and Knife. We will also include a series of related acting classes to enhance the performance of stage fighting. This workshop is open to those who have gained a basic certificate in stage fighting from a recognised Stage Combat organisation (BASSC, BADC, SAFD, SAFDi, FDC, etc). The Junior Stage Combat WorkshopThis workshop is aimed at 14-18 year-olds, offering technique and safety foundation skills in Swordplay and Unarmed Combat, with emphasis on the theatrical presentation of each system. No prior experience is necessary for participation in this course. It runs from the 11th August - 15th August. You may opt to take the British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat JGA (Junior Grade Award) at the end of the course. |
